​You don't know where to start with your research or maybe you have started but have hit a brick wall?

You would like further details about what your family were up to where they lived in Great Britain going back to the 18th century and beyond.



With a combination of genealogical experience, online and archive resources Wakefield based Ancestral Enquiries offer a number of services:

• Family Trees. Research and build your family tree using a variety of sources.

• Brickwalls. Resolve 'brickwalls' where there appear to be no options or too many options for potential ancestors for the previous generation.

• Family Tree review and verification. You may have already completed some research but would like your research reviewed and verified. I will carry out a review of your research, identify any issues and provide suggestions for rectifying them.

• Family Tree research advice. You may be confident to enough to do your own research but would like some one to one advice. I can offer this by email, Zoom or in person (subject to location).

I am within easy travelling distance of the five main West Yorkshire Archives at Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale.

To find out about your family history I will use a wide range of records to uncover details of:

 

• Birth, baptism, marriage, deaths and burial records.

• Where they lived at various dates including maps.

• Occupational information.

• Details of their siblings, parents and children including information about infant deaths

• Military records.

• Criminal activity.

 

Once the family history research is complete I will provide the following:

 

• A detailed written report showing the findings and explaining the records and their purpose.

• Screenshots of documents found with transcriptions within the report or an appendix

• A drop line hand drawn family tree.

• Details of searches carried out including those that produced no results.

• A list of sources and citations used.

• Recommendations for further research.

• All files from screenshots that appear in the report
